Ludmila Lima de Morais is a Brazilian artist whose work navigates the boundaries between traditional and digital media. Her research-creation practice utilizes robotics, sound, and game engines to investigate how technology impacts human intimacy and our connection to the natural world through a surreal lens. From tracking the viewer through facial recognition in Second Sun to exploring themes of migration and home in the award-winning Ressonar, Ludmila’s work interrogates the impact of technology on the lived experience. Her interdisciplinary approach is informed by a commitment to blending artistic practice with rigorous technological inquiry and collaborative innovation.

Prior to joining the School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT), Ludmila earned an MFA from the University of Alberta. She also holds a Teaching Degree in Visual Arts from Claretiano University and a BA from the Universidade de Brasília. Her work has been exhibited extensively across Brazil and Canada, reflecting a career-long dedication to both artistic production and the pedagogical potential of media arts.
