Untitled 1, 2 & 3 (from mama series, writing with dehydrated placenta grounds)

In this work, I collaborated with my daughter Sofía to write the word “mamá” in Spanish using grounds from her placenta that I dehydrated and pulverized when she was born.
She wrote the word “mamá” on a piece of paper using white glue and a brush. Then she covered the word with the placenta grounds. She then shook the paper so the grounds fell off the paper until the word “mamá” was revealed. I documented the process with a camera. The complete series includes 8 photographs.
