Slide projections and mixed media

DESCRIPTION

The piece is inspired by the short story of Cuban writer Guillermo Cabrera Infante in which he describes how a spirit captures the last breath of all living beings. The piece consists of a colour slide that captures the breath coming out of my mouth projected to a wall. On the floor, a series of glass tubes are placed on top of a bed of gravel. This piece explores how visual images can record information that is not perceptively to the eye in direct experience.
