The Critical Media Arts Studio (cMas) is pleased to invite you to an upcoming exhibition that includes projects designed by three SIAT graduate students from Dr. Gabriela Aceves Sepulveda’s SIAT New Media class and guest curator Dr. Hannah Turner, a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Kate Hennessy’s Making Culture Lab.
As part of the final project for this class, Jo Shin, Frederico Machuca and Xavier Wu created three processing projects and an analog Zine that addressed themes of surveillance and machine communication (for more, see the project website http://criticalmediartstudio.iat.sfu.ca/Witnessing/>).
These students were invited to display these projects as part of a larger exhibit in concert with the UBC’s Art History, Visual Art and Theory (AHVA) departments’ graduate symposium: “Under Super Vision.”
The exhibit features four other international artists, and opens on Thursday, March 9th from 6 – 8 PM at the Audain Art Centre <https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Audain+Arts+Centreemail@example.com,-123.2545766,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xb656b3a486982e56?sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj73PS68LXSAhVJxGMKHZfsC8oQ_BIIajAK> at UBC.
